Generate found it’s origin already in the early 90s in a band called Goofy Glue.
By the end of the 90s, this band was pretty well known in the region. After the name
was changed into Generate, the band immediately started writing new songs which were
recorded at Scorpio Studios in Born and released on the demo album called ‘Rain oh
In 2007 the 4 man band was completed with a keyboard player which did not only change
the band into a 5-men setting but due to the expansion, the sound also changed. It
became broader and more powerful but also more diverse.
Although Generate plays some covers, it is definitely not a cover band. The goal
is to play our own original music where the entire band is involved in the creative
process hence creating Generate’s own unique sound.
All of this makes it difficult to “box” Generate’s music. It is a mixture of styles
which is entirely influenced by each member’s prefered music.
As there are symphonic influences and a wide variety of rock styles Generate simply
calls it ‘Symphonic Pop Rock’. In the end it is up to the listener to define what
The fundamental aim is to write songs that are nice to listen to and at the same
time offer a musical challenge for each band member.
Live gigs are usually build in 2 longer or 3 shorter sets, each set between 45 minutes
(3 sets) and 60 minutes (2 sets). Generate can play both small venues (like bars
and clubs) but also large venues. A PA system can be arranged upon request.
